My Jesus, I believe You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot, at this moment, receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there, and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

WEEKLY MESSAGE
by Father
Arthur Proulx
(Palm Sunday, April 5th 2020)

Dear Parishioners,

Today, we begin Holy Week. To say that Holy Week 2020 is “different” would clearly be an understatement. I subscribe to the spiritual notion that we can find “God in all things.” That is to say, in all circumstances, God is laboring to communicate His love for us. More often than not, it’s difficult to find that love when we’re experiencing some sort of sorrow or pain. But in time, with sincere prayer, the Holy Spirit will usually enlighten us.

In these days before Easter, we recall Jesus’ passion, death, and burial. The remarkable thing is that God does not desire to love us from afar. Rather, He chooses to walk right along with humanity, and share in our suffering. Whenever we suffer, we do so with the sure knowledge that He is at our side. Furthermore, for the Christian, suffering and death never have the last word. A glorious Resurrection is our firm and constant hope. Perhaps that is why Holy Week this year is especially important.

Let us hold on to that blessed hope. Join us throughout the week for our livestreamed liturgies. It’s important for us, especially this year, to be united in prayer.

We love you. We are constantly praying for you here at the Cathedral Parish.

God bless you.

Your brother in Christ,
Fr. Proulx
